Will returning home after a forced stay be easy? No it will be a hard adjustment. Even those who have chosen to live abroad voluntary seeking career options or marriage find it difficult to return home to the country they were born and raised in.
The author of a website who lives and work in Europe published a blog-entry about this problem. Also Wikipedia has a section about this problem. We quote:
Reverse Culture Shock (a.k.a. "Re-entry Shock", or "own culture shock") may take place — returning to one's home culture after growing accustomed to a new one can produce the same effects as described above. These are results from the psychosomatic and psychological consequences of the readjustment process to the primary culture.
The affected person often finds this more surprising and difficult to deal with than the original culture shock. This phenomenon, the reactions that members of the re-entered culture exhibit toward the re-entrant, and the inevitability of the two are encapsulated in the saying first coined by Thomas Wolfe in his eponymous book "You Can't Go Home Again".
So if adults face difficulties resettling back home, then what about the children?
